(20 Oct 2017) Bank customers in Catalonia on Friday were withdrawing symbolic amounts of money from financial institutions that have moved their official headquarters to other locations in Spain amid a political crisis over the region's independence bid. Pro-independence umbrella group Crida Democracia called on consumers late on Thursday to put pressure on banks that made the decision. Many responded to the call, with most withdrawing 150 or 160 euros from ATMs. The amounts were closest to 155, in reference to the Spanish constitutional article with which the central government plans to revoke some of Catalonia's autonomous powers to prevent regional politicians from pushing ahead with secession. CaixaBank and Banco Sabadell, the largest Catalan lenders, are among hundreds of financial institutions and businesses to have moved their official registration out of Catalonia. "I figure that withdrawing money will collapse the banks, to demonstrate that power lies in unity and to channel this frustration," said Roser Ruiz, a 41-year-old obstetric living in the city of Sabadell, near Barcelona. Ruiz withdrew her maximum daily amount of 1,000 euros from the ATM. The crisis over Catalonia's quest for independence escalated on Thursday, as Spain's central government prepared the unprecedented step of stripping the wealthy region of some of its self-governing powers after its leader refused to abandon secession. Their letter to the president accuses him of “undermining the fundamental rights of internet users everywhere.” The internet spy program, approved by Executive Order, allows the NSA to review loads of information from all over the web and compare notes, all trying to track down and identify an ever-growing list of terrorists. Even the left-leaning Washington Post called the Executive Order into question, somehow blaming deceased President Ronald Reagan for Obama’s bungled NSA cover up. While Obama is overseas, looking for answers in Iraq, Syria, Ukraine and Libya, the American homefront is burning with his own supporters, demanding answers about the NSA. Support Indymedia! They are people with wavy hair lavishly distributed all over their brown bodies, long headed with low foreheads and prominent eye ridges, noses with low and broad roots, thick jaws, large palates and teeth and small chins. The Austrics of India represent a race of medium height, dark complexion with long heads and rather flat noses but otherwise of regular features. 6 The Austrics laid the foundation of Indian civilization The Austrics laid the foundation of Indian civilization. They cultivated rice and vegetables and made sugar from sugarcane. Now these people are found in some parts of India, Myanmar and the islands of South East Asia. Their languages have survived in the Central and Eastern India. 7 Characteristics Skin colour: Black Hair: wavy hair long head Arms & legs: long and spindly 8 Mediterranean or Dravidian They have been believed to come before the Aryans. They have different sub-groups like the Paleo-Mediterranean, the true Mediterranean, and the Oriental Mediterranean. They appear to be people of the same stock as the peoples of Asia Minor and Crete and pre- Hellenic Aegean's of Greece. They are reputed to have built up the city civilization of the Indus valley, whose remains have been found at Mohenjo- daro and Harappa and other Indus cities. 9 Western Brachycephals These include the Alpinoids, Dinarics and Armenoids. The Parsis and Kodavas also fall in this category. They are the broad headed people living mainly on the western side of the country such as the Ganga Valley and the delta, parts of Kashmir, Kathiawar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. 10 Nordics or the Indo-Aryans This group were the last one to immigrate to India. Some civil society groups have come together to condemn the Nigerian Police and the government for the alleged intimidation of Innocent Idibia, also known as "Tuface", into canceling the planned anti-government protest 48 hours to the date fixed for it. They insisted that the protest will go on as and planed, while calling on Nigerians to come out to join the protest tomorrow. The groups said; “We want to condemn the Federal Government and the Nigeria Police Force for intimidation 2face Idibia from participating in February 6th mass protests against the sufferings and anti-poor policies in the country”. Youth Against Austerity and United Action for Democracy called on all Nigerians not to be disappointed in the recent happenings around the protest. “This is we feel the mass of Nigerians across the country has every right to continue. We will march alongside other radical groups and the mass of the people who are agitated on moving against this hardship. We call on all Nigerians, the battle is for the brave. Let’s show our oppressors and the bosses that we will emancipate ourselves no matter the threats” the groups said. They commend Tuface for making effort at standing for the truth. “That he had to bow to the cruel and anti-democratic pressures on him and his family is a pointer to the fact that we all are humans. The fate of the protest is never tied is never tied to any individual, no matter how great or popular.”
